Application:
The Nahrab Gostar vacuum breaker air valve protects pipelines against damaging negative pressure during events such as pipe rupture or rapid, uncontrolled drainage. Installed downstream of an excess-flow shut-off valve, it admits the required volume of air into the pipeline as vacuum conditions develop. The valve remains closed under normal positive pressure, begins opening at approximately -0.1 bar, and is fully open at approximately -0.2 bar. A spring-loaded piston-cylinder mechanism controls the closing speed to reduce hydraulic shock and prevent rapid closure.
Design Standards and Features:
- Flange dimensions: DIN EN 1092-2 (DIN 2501)
- Face-to-face dimensions: DIN EN 558-1 (DIN 3202-F4)
- Final valve testing: DIN EN 12266-1
Corrosion Protection :
Electrostatic epoxy powder coating with a minimum dry-film thickness of 250 μm, suitable for potable-water applications.
