Application:
Wall couplings provide a secure sleeve through walls and allow connections on both sides. They reduce installation time and eliminate the need to thread, bevel, weld or flange plain pipe ends.
Product Features:
- Quick installation without special tools
- Suitable for above-ground and buried pipelines
- Compatible with PVC, GRP, ductile-iron and steel pipes
- Rubber gaskets absorb vibration and help compensate for thermal movement
- Angular flexibility in accordance with AWWA C219
- Suitable for water, gas, oil, petrochemical and wastewater services, subject to material compatibility
Corrosion Protection:
Electrostatic epoxy powder coating with a minimum thickness of 250 µm, certified for potable-water service by reputable international institutions.
Temperature Performance:
Temperature performance depends on the sealing-gasket material. Suitable gasket compounds may be used at temperatures up to 100 °C. If thermal cycling occurs, the coupling bolts should be inspected and retightened as required.
Chemical Resistance:
Chemical resistance depends on the coated metal surfaces and the selected rubber-gasket compound.
Pipe Coating:
The final coupling size must be selected from the finished outside diameter of the pipe, including any protective coating. Nahrab Gostar can supply suitable couplings when the final pipe diameter and coating thickness are provided.
Stress Reduction:
- Rubber gaskets absorb sound and vibration.
- The gap between pipe ends can help isolate vibration.
- The coupling can be used as a flexible connection in pumping stations and pipelines.
Use with GRP Pipes:
Wall couplings can be used with GRP pipelines where a removable bolted connection is required. Their angular flexibility and ease of disassembly simplify maintenance compared with bonded sleeve connections.
